Rhino Safari in Mkomazi

This safari trip to Mkomazi, one of Tanzania’s least-traveled national parks, is perfect for those who value nature conservation, wild landscapes and privacy. Mkomazi is home to the endangered black rhino and African wild dog, both protected through conservation projects that your visit directly supports. You’ll visit the rhino sanctuary and, on top of that, may spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, oryx, and lesser kudu roaming the plains. This itinerary is great for those coming off Kilimanjaro, thanks to Mkomazi’s convenient location just 3 hours from Moshi. It’s also an excellent add-on for travelers interested in rare wildlife or wanting to escape the typical safari circuit. Altezza Travel actively supports the conservation efforts at Mkomazi, including sponsoring the rhino sanctuary. One of the newborn rhinos there was even named after Altezza — and we’ve been supporting it ever since!
