Predator’s Season: Big Cats Safari in Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Ndutu

Predator’s Season: Big Cats Safari in Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Ndutu safari in Tanzania
1 / 1

This 4-day safari is crafted for wildlife lovers and photographers eager to focus on Africa’s most iconic predators — big cats — while avoiding the peak-season rush. The journey starts in Tarangire, where lions roam among ancient baobabs, and continues to the Ngorongoro Crater, home to an incredibly dense concentration of wildlife, including the rarest serval cats. You’ll then spend two nights in the remote Ndutu area, staying at Ndutu Safari Lodge — our handpicked accommodation offering special mid-season rates from April to December. Just 2.5 hours’ drive from the crater, it allows you to experience the vast Ngorongoro Conservation Area far beyond its famous crater. Ndutu is best known for hosting the Great Migration from December to March — but once the migration camps leave in April, a different magic begins. The region becomes quiet and exclusive, yet the resident predators remain. Over 50 lions, alongside cheetahs and leopards, stay year-round, and in the dry months, sightings of mothers with cubs are especially common. Birdlife is outstanding, and from April to May, scattered wildebeest herds may still linger. With fewer vehicles and full wildlife, this is a dream safari for those seeking unfiltered nature. Please note: This tour is priced specifically for the Predator’s Season in Ndutu (April–December).
